What are some small things that you let influence your future more than they should have? Think about the little choices, the setbacks, missed opportunities, or just a careless moment, that ended up shaping the way you move forward.
What things have you let define your self-image or sense of worth? Maybe it’s other people’s opinions, your achievements, your appearance, or past mistakes? What comes to mind for you?
In the past, how have you tried to hold onto old things, like habits, mindsets, or even people, when God is clearly moving you into something new?

PERSONAL REFLECTION
I used to believe the lie that I wasn’t qualified to lead in ministry or even to pray out loud. Insecure about how my prayers sound, were they “good enough”? Should I be following some kind of formula? Do I even know enough about the Bible to pray with confidence? And when it came to sharing, I often felt too flawed to encourage people to faith in Jesus. But here’s the truth: prayer is simply a conversation with God. Here’s the truth: My purpose to lead people to Him. Here’s the truth: everyone is a sinner. And here’s the truth: my testimony carries purpose and power, because God is the one writing it. People’s opinions don’t define me. What matters most is what my Creator will say when I finally stand before Him. My prayer is that I’ll hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” I know I’ve made mistakes, and continue to make them. I’ve held onto bad habits, but God is patient and faithful. He doesn’t demand perfection. He asks for my willingness to keep moving in the right direction. What He wants most is a real relationship with me, to hear my honest prayers. I’ve even asked God to remove the relationships from my life that weren’t meant to stay, and over time, I’ve watched certain friendships fade away, and not with bitterness or guilt, but with peace. In their place, He’s been giving me kingdom connections, a community rooted in Christ. Together, we share the same purpose in Him, we lift each other up, and we cover one another in prayer. And our stories, our testimonies, have actually brought us closer to each other and to God. Recently, I heard a sermon about the difference between faith and hope. Faith can’t exist without hope. Hope is what keeps us looking forward, trusting that God’s promises will come true, that the blood of Jesus really is enough. Hope is that flicker of light that pushes back the darkness. - Angie
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you had no identity as a people, now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
“After studying this scripture, I’ve learned that when Peter says ‘chosen people’ it means God has selected us for a special purpose. We aren’t here randomly. We’re a significant part of His plan. As ‘royal priests and holy nation’, Peter is saying that we have direct access to God and we’re called to serve others. We are set apart to live our lives in a way that reflects God. We are called to showcase God’s goodness. Our lives should testify God’s love and grace. We should be transformed with mercy and belonging. Peter is encouraging us to embrace our identity in God and to live our calling with joy and purpose.” - Angie
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
“God has a purpose for each one of us and our value and identify begin with God’s understanding of us. We aren’t by accident. We are intentionally crafted by God for His purposes. Each of us has a unique and creative calling. God can equip us and empower us to fill the mission He has for our lives. Take a moment to recognize your value in His eyes. Seek His purpose for your life. Know what you are loved and called to impact the world in so many super meaningful ways.” - Angie
