When you reflect on your role as a woman in today’s society, what feelings arise? If you’re married, do you sense that you have a defined role? Take a moment to consider how your role aligns with God’s Word.

Do you feel that a lack of understanding of Scripture has contributed to uncertainty about your role as a woman or wife? When you reflect on yourself and the role you play in the lives of others, do you feel confident that you embody and champion the beauty of biblical womanhood? Are you familiar with what biblical womanhood truly entails?

Listen to the thoughts that surface as you explore this more deeply. Do you wrestle with them, or do you desire the image of a Godly woman? As a mother, how have you shaped the image of womanhood for your children? Have you spoken to your kids about it, and is the narrative different between what you share with your son versus your daughter?

REFLECTION

PERSONAL REFLECTION

Being raised by a single mother, my grandmother, and a household full of sisters, we all learned to play dual roles. Looking back, I feel proud to be a strong woman. I was raised to take pride in my ability to handle just about anything, often without relying on “man power.” That upbringing has given me a courage and confidence that shines through me, sometimes without even realizing it. I’ll admit, I didn’t know much about what it truly meant to be a Godly woman according to Scripture. I’ve learned that “self-love,” as commonly promoted today, isn’t a biblical concept, it comes from the world. I’ve also discovered that when the Bible speaks of “full submission” to your husband, it describes a partnership founded on love and respect. Both serve each other equally, creating a beautiful harmony.

Through my study, I’ve learned that biblical womanhood emphasizes a woman’s identity as a daughter of God. - Angie

“Proverbs 31:10–31 describes her strength, wisdom, kindness, ability to manage her household, and her contributions to the community. She is diligent, resourceful, and compassionate. She is a wife (Ephesians 5:22), a mother (Titus 2:4), and she uses her gifts for God’s glory (1 Peter 4:10). She serves others faithfully and reflects God’s character. She is valued by Him. She fears the Lord, which brings wisdom, and that wisdom bears the fruits of the Spirit. She fully depends on and loves the Lord.” - Angie

She is far more precious than jewels.
