This chapter really spoke to me! It reminded me how much I want to give my best in the roles God has called me to, and to walk in them the way He desires. Lord, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. Keep my heart centered on Your purpose and guide me into this new season with steady focus and faith.

It also brought to mind Esther 4:14, “for such a time as this.” That verse calls me to courage and reminds me that God has given each of us a unique purpose. He has placed me here, in this moment, for a reason. He’s equipping me with the strength and opportunities I need to make a difference.

God, help me stay present in today’s assignments and set aside distractions. Show me what, and who, drains my energy, so I can walk wisely. Help me focus on the priorities You’ve given me and rest in the truth that I can’t save or fix anyone, only You can. My part in this life is to just keep pointing others toward Your love and overflowing grace. - Angie

Do you feel like there are some priorities in your life that may need to be rearranged? Are you finding the strength to make those hard choices and to focus on the roles God has entrusted to you?

  • Have you invited someone you trust to share their perspective on how you’re managing your priorities? If so, were you surprised by what they saw?

  • Have you practiced saying “no” when needed? How did that feel? Did you experience guilt, or peace and strength in setting that boundary and trusting that it was the right decision?

REFLECTION

PERSONAL REFLECTION

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: The people are saying, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the Lord. Then the Lord sent this message through the prophet Haggai: Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins?
— Haggai 1:2-4

A reminder to prioritize the house of the Lord. It’s also a reminder for self-reflection. God wants us to recognize misplaced priorities and to commit our time to Him, and to remind us to nurture our relationship with Him.- Angie
