The boxes story really got me thinking. In my family, we’ve always called it putting people on “different shelves.” We often come back to Matthew 7:6: “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.”
What I appreciate about the boxes analogy, though, is the visual reminder, to notice which boxes might be empty, and which ones need to be rearranged. It gave me a new perspective, especially since I often struggle to balance my time and energy wisely.
Lord, help me invest my pearls with discernment. Teach me to pour my time, energy, and effort into what truly matters. Give me wisdom to recognize when someone’s heart may not yet be ready to receive Your truth, and grace to always respond with love. Help me to honor Your holiness while walking in compassion. Grant me patience and understanding in every interaction. - Angie
Have you ever met someone older whose wisdom and perspective you deeply admire? Someone who seems to shine with the light of God’s grace? What lessons did you learn from them, or what would you ask them if you had the chance to sit and talk with them today?
As you think about the “boxes” in your life, is it clear which ones deserve more of your focus and attention? Take a moment in prayer to ask God to show you where He wants you to invest your time, energy, and heart. Invite Him to guide you in finding balance and peace as you prioritize what truly matters.

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under Heaven.”
“Our lives go through various stages, but God has a greater plan at work, even when things feel chaotic. Embrace each season of your life, and rest assured that each season has significance and purpose.”
